With the addition of the RV park, and the growth of the business over the last few years we are now needing to add a few more positions! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to break into the fly fishing industry, or for someone who has possibly been working for a bigger outfit and wants more responsibility and days! For the following positions
- Fishing guides – We have two positions to fill on the guide front. They could be filled by one person at a minimum but ideally we would like to add two more guides to the staff. Our biggest priority is for a gear runner (bagger) on the camp stretch. And also for a fishing guide. All guides need to have, or be able to acquire valid cpr/first aid cards. Fishing guides need a guide license (we can help with both) fishing guides also need a drift boat, with a dependable trailer and dependable vehicle to tow. Plus multiple years of fly fishing experience, ideally with guide experience and experience fishing and boating the Deschutes. We will train the right person(s) and this could be a great opportunity for someone to break into the industry as long as they have a good attitude, willingness to learn and have the fishing and boating experience to base on.
- Bagger – The requirements for this position are experience running class 3-4 whitewater, ideally with experience running the Deschutes from Warm Springs to Maupin . Be safety conscience, be able to work alone and work well with others, be physically fit enough to handle 2-3 hours of rowing a day plus the 5-6 hours of labor setting up and breaking down camps. Be able to follow directions well. And be able to handle working outside in a wilderness environment typically alone for multiple days at a time. Perks include good wages and tips, food, excellent training and experience for the right hire plus shop, and camp deals. As the bagger you would be rowing the company raft and don’t have to provide a boat. But if you have a drift boat as well there good be opportunities for guiding for those qualified.
- Camp/Shop Help – Want to live in a van down by river and get paid for it? We have openings for camp help. If you have experience in fly fishing, retail, retail management, food service, grounds keeping, house keeping, building maintenance we want to hear from you! This job includes a stipend plus an rv site depending on the level of participation in the business. Full time= free lodging + wages, part time = discounted lodging and wages depending on hours worked. Must have a presentable rv or camper. This could be a great opportunity for a semi retired person or couple or someone working remotely who wants to make a few bucks or work off some lodging!
